What to do in Whirlpool State Park

Whirlpool State Park is located 2 miles north of the Great Niagara Falls. The park has two levels of recreation opportunities. The upper level offers views of the mile-long rapids along with a children's playground and picnic area. The lower level descends into a gorge offering several trail choices and access to fishing waters. Viewing the waters from this park is interesting because it leaves the whirlpool at a right angle forming an elbow in the Niagara River. This park is open May through November, dawn to dusk.
