Writer Fred Kane has been a hunter for 30 years, a fisherman for 25 years, and a bumbling-to-good camper forever.

Fred says he doesn't remember a time when he did not write - including diary entrys. Currently, he writes freelance for Woodall's Publishing Company and The House of White Birches (Good Old Days). His clips includes articles for Midwest Outdoors, NY Game & Fish, Dakota Outdoors, Fur, Fish & Game and other outdoor publications, as well as newsletters for various organizations. He is a member of Outdoor Writers of America and New York State Outdoor Writers Association. He is also the founder of. the Flower City Sportsmen group. - a group of 25 to 30 sportsmen, extablished in 1987.

You can catch Fred's weekly outdoor column, sponsored by Seneca Hybrids, in The Honeoye Falls Sentinel. Fred also writes a monthly column for The Sportsmen Report, a magazine that covers the NY/PA section of the Northeast.

When Fred's fingers aren't pecking away at the keyboard, he's leaving his footprints on his favorite spots around Western New York, Lake Ontario, Rattlesnake Hill, The Finger Lakes, HiTor, and Chautauqua.
