If you like fishing, the adventure of a lifetime is waiting for you aboard the luxurious Amazon Queen. Why not join us this coming season in our quest for trophy peacock bass? We still have limited space. Here are answers to a few of the most commonly asked questions.
How do I get there?
You'll depart Monday from Miami on an evening Varig Airlines flight to Manaus, Brazil. You'll arrive early the next morning and be transported to the Queen. The Queen spends the next 24 hours heading upriver to the prime fishing areas, allowing you and your fellow anglers to relax, get acquainted with each other and prepare tackle.
Where will I stay on the Queen?
The Amazon Queen can accommodate up to 14 anglers. Two anglers share an air-conditioned cabin with private bathroom and shower. An open bar and restaurant are available for you to enjoy delightful meals and to unwind after a long day on the water.
What is the fishing program like?
At the start of each fishing day, the Queen's fleet of eight 17-foot American-made Nitro bass boats pull up alongside the mothership and anglers are paired up with an experienced guide. You'll fish an average of 10 hours a day, probing backwater lagoons and the main river structure. Instruction is available for novice anglers.
When is the best time to fish?
We typically fish south of Manaus from September through November and north of Manaus from December through April. The operation closes from May through August to prepare the Queen for the upcoming season.
What documentation do I need?
A valid passport and a Brazilian tourist visa are required.
What inoculations will I need?
None are required. Malaria tablets are recommended.
How much does this trip cost?
Our package price for 9 days/8 nights with five full days of fishing is $2,995, plus $795 air fare from Miami to Manaus, Brazil. A $1,000 deposit is required to hold your space.
