The Denver metropolitan area claims nearly two million people, and one of America's youngest populations. Denverites are by and large an active, outdoor-loving people. There are more than two hundred urban parks to play in. The city is located on Colorado's Front Range, where the semi-arid weather is great for outdoor activities. On average there are only 88 days of precipitation a year along this populated corridor. Gloomy, rainy days are few.

In Colorado's capital city you can combine outdoor adventures with metropolitan culture. Museums, an arts center and bookstores are within biking distance of crosstown greenbelt trails. GORP presents a sampling of great outdoor activities for families in the Denver area. Whether you're a resident or a visitor, have a great time in the Mile-High City!
