SADDLE UP – Two- to seven-hour rides explore the Canadian Rockies and the Rocky Mountain Trench, a broad valley between the Rockies and the Purcell Mountains. The ranch, five hours northeast of Spokane, Washington, tailors its riding program to your taste—one popular ride passes alpine lakes on the way to the 4,411-foot Premier Ridge, prime habitat for bighorn sheep.
OUT OF THE SADDLE – A chuck wagon packed with lunch will meet you at Lazy Lake, six miles from the ranch, for swimming and cliff jumping. Hike in the Purcell Mountains, fly-fish for cutthroat and bull trout in the St. Mary River, or raft 40 miles down the Class III-IV Elk River. Afterward, soak in Lussier Hot Springs, 45 minutes north of the ranch.

GRUB HIGHLIGHT – Wild Rose's own red or white wine (16 varieties).
KIDS – There isn't a set program, but kids enjoy hiking with the ranch Labradors, Chester and Storm.
COST – From $1,335 per person per week in July and August; $1,040 from mid-May through June and September through mid-October. The ranch is recommended for kids 12 and older.
