What to do in Trace State Park

Trace State Park offers a quiet, natural retreat located just minutes from the excitement of Tupelo, one of Mississippi's fastest growing cities. Trace State Park offers a variety of outdoor activities ranging from fishing and water sports to exporing miles of secluded nature trails. A special arrangement with the Pontotoc Country Club allows Trace State Park guests to enjoy the club's 18-hole golf course without paying green fees.

This 2,500-acre park offers a wide variety of activities to the outdoor enthusiast. The lake offers fishing and boating, and there are trails for hiking and motorized activities. The park's amenities include 25 campsites, 6 cabins, boat rentals and a launch ramp. Visitors may enjoy the cabins and campsites for their overnight accommodations.

Recreational activities include hiking, camping, fishing, boating, water skiing, swimming and motorcycle riding.

The park is located 10 miles east of Pontotoc off Mississippi Hwy. 6.

Mississippi generally has a temperate climate, with cool winters and warm, humid summers. Freezing temperatures are possible in the winter. Thunderstorms and are possible throughout the year but most common in the spring and summer. Tropical storms occasionally strike the coast during the hurricane season.
