Henry rates Nashville
I grew up near Nashville and call it home! The city has a dynamic nightlife and music abounds in many venues -- the Grand Ole Opry house, the Ryman Auditorium, and many small intimate venues. Nashville is called the "Athens of the South" due to the many colleges and universities that operate there, key among them is Vanderbilt. For the state's Centennial celebration, a replica of the Parthenon was built in what is now called Centennial Park. The one thing I miss from my childhood is Opryland, the country music themed amusement park that was disassembled and razed for Opry Mills, a sprawling shopping complex. For sports fans can watch the Tennessee Titans NFL team and the Nashville Sounds (AAA affiliate of Milwaukee Brewers) baseball team.
