What to do in Summer Falls State Park

Summer Falls State Park covers 260 acres with approximately 5 miles of freshwater shoreline. There are 20 picnic sites, a comfort station, 45 parking spaces, and 2 miles of public roads.

Recreation
Activities include picnicking, fishing, hiking, and viewing of falls.

Location
Summer Falls State Park, in south central Washington, is nine miles south of Coulee City on Pinto Ridge Road in Grant County. The park is located between state highways 2 and 28.

Climate
The climate of Washington varies within each region. The Cascades split the state and alter the weather patterns. The terrain east of the mountains, which includes Summer Falls State Park, receives approximately 12 inches of rainfall per year, generally much less than west of the mountains. Since the area east of the mountains is landlocked, temperatures in this region are lower during the winter months. Frequent winds coming down from the mountains also contribute to the low temperatures of eastern Washington.
