What to do in Tobago Cays

Welcome to one of the most idyllic sailing destinations in the Windward Islands: a horseshoe reef fronts the Tobago Cays, its shallow coral gardens breaking the waves and creating a cerulean lagoon where emerald islets jut from protected waters. Interspersed by narrow channels and fringed by palm-lined beaches, these Caribbean desert islands comprise five uninhabited jewels in St. Vincent and the Grenadines. And Hollywood agrees: the beach on Petit Tabac was the backdrop for the stranding of Jack Sparrow in Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl . Of course, getting stranded on these blinding-white beaches requires a boat, which is why the Tobago Cays are popular cruising grounds for yachts and sailboats. But water taxis and day charters are also available for diving, snorkeling, or just hanging out on a real desert island.
