What to do in Southwick Beach State Park

Southwick Beach State Park is located adjacent to the Lakeview Wildlife Management Area offering an adjoining hiking and cross-country trail system. Swimming, picnicking and camping are enjoyed from mid-May through mid-October. Winter access is permitted.

Southwick Beach State Park is spacious and popular, known for outstanding swimming and sunning on its long sandy beach. Campers and day users enjoy picnicking, boating, fishing and games on the playing fields. The park is adjacent to the Lakeview Wildlife Management Area, home to the environmentally sensitive coastal sand dunes. Park nature, hiking, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing trails adjoin the wildlife management area and its trail system, which visitors are encouraged to use. During the winter, snowmobilers are permitted in the park.

Southwick Beach State Park offers a swimming beach, a boat launch site, camper recreation, fishing, hiking, a nature trail, picnic area, recreation programs, playing fields, a children's playground, campground with showers and winter cross-country and snowshoeing trails. The park opens in mid-May and operates through mid-October.

Southwick Beach State Park is located 2 miles southwest of Watertown along SR 3. It rests on the shores of Lake Ontario.
