What to do in Myrtle Beach
Myrtle Beach is as American as baseball and Budweiser. And perhaps the biggest trouble with spending your family vacation here is convincing your kids it’s time to leave. This legendary locale shuttles through an average of 14 million visitors annually, each seemingly leaving with a lobster tan and bags of back-to-school clothes from the miles of outlet malls. “The Grand Strand,” as it’s called, has turned itself into an oversized theme park in recent years. Hotels have playgrounds and mini water parks, and putt-putt is ubiquitous. The SkyWheel, one of the tallest Ferris wheels in the country, dominates the skyline of the 1.2-mile oceanfront boardwalk. This beast of a wheel reaches 200 feet tall with a million LED lights and 42 air-conditioned gondolas. It’s like Las Vegas, but for preteens.

Myrtle Beach Q&A

- Attractions for Teens in Pennsylvania, Maryland, NC, and Virginia?
-
My family and I are going on vacation to Myrtle Beach in a week and we are taking two days to get there and two days to get back. We are going through Pennsylvania, Maryland, North Carolina, and Virginia. If anyone knows of any fun places to stop that are NON-HISTORICAL and fun for the 13 year old twins (girls) and would like to share, that would be great! Thanks!

My husband and I are looking for a beachfront hotel where we can relax and do nothing but enjoy the view. Where can we find a luxury hotel with no children. We prefer all-inclusive resorts, or private rental home with a pool.
