Sleeping Giant Ski Resort
Overview by Dina Mishev
The Sleeping Giant Ski Area is located just outside the east entrance to Yellowstone National Park and 50 miles west of Cody. In the colorful Absaroka Mountain Range, Sleeping Giant's base is on the banks of the north fork of the Shoshone River. Virtually deserted, Sleeping Giant offers 49 runs on 184 acres down a 810-foot vertical drop. More than 12 miles of cross-country ski trails head off into Yellowstone National Park and the Shoshone National Wilderness from Sleeping Giant's parking lot. Sleeping Giant is also only several miles from Buffalo Bill Cody's historic Pahaska Tepee.
