Overview by Mitch Kaplan
Set a stone's throw outside of Pittsburgh, this mega-resort defies definition. Most wouldn't list it among the northeastern resorts, but the place is so unique, it's worth mentioning. How is it special? Well, with a base lodge hotel; numerous game rooms and arcades; an indoor pool; a shopping gallery; a bowling alley; a movie theater; conference facilities; and multiple restaurants, bars and lounges, it's a unique cross between a local ski area, a destination resort, and a family entertainment emporium. If you ski with kids, this is a busy (sometimes frenetic) but magnificent place.

rates Seven Springs
Seven Springs is a full service resort. I visited for a conference and was impressed by this fine resort. Not the best skiing in the East, but makes a nice place for a couples getaway. Can be quite crowded on weekends when snow conditions are good.Prices are reasonable. Pros: Easy to access, Great for kids, Well maintained. Cons: Long lines.
