Overview by Ashley Patterson
Brian Head has the highest base area of any resort in Utah. At 9,600 feet above sea level, it can be dizzying for the sea-level traveler. Brian Head is located approximately four hours south of Salt Lake City in the spectacular southern Utah canyon country. It is surrounded by Bryce Canyon, Zion, and Cedar Breaks national parks. The resort has less steep terrain than many other Utah resorts and thus is a good option for less experienced skiers or those with small children. It is also a popular snowboarding destination.
Where: Just 12 miles off Interstate 15 (exit 78) on Highway 143. Brian Head is less than three hours from Las Vegas off the I-15; less than eight hours from LA, San Diego, and Phoenix; and four hours from Salt Lake City.
