What to do in Saratoga Spa State Park

Famous for its many aesthetic, recreational and cultural attractions, Saratoga Spa State Park offers fabulous public amenities year-round. The park features two golf courses, an Olympic-sized Peerless Pool complex, extensive multi-use trails, performing arts center, museum, tennis courts, fishing opportunities an both ice skating and ice hockey rinks.

Saratoga Spa State Park, distinguished by its classical architecture and listed as a National Historic Landmark, is noted for its diverse cultural, aesthetic and recreational resources. In addition to the nationally known Saratoga Performing Arts Center, the Spa Little Theater, the National Museum of Dance, the Gideon Putnam Hotel and the Lincoln and Roosevelt mineral baths, the park offers a multitude of traditional recreation opportunities. The Olympic-sized Peerless Pool complex includes the main pool and separate wading and water slide pools as well. The park has two beautiful golf courses; a championship 18-hole course and a challenging 9-hole course, complete with pro shop and restaurant. The gentle terrain offers picnic areas, shady streamside trails, suitable for the nature-lover or the casual walker, as well as certified running courses used by joggers and high school and college athletes. Winter activities include both ice skating and ice hockey rinks and cross-country skiing.

Saratoga Spa State Park offers an Olympic-sized Peerless Pool complex that includes a main pool and separate wading and water slide pools, two beautiful golf courses, fishing site, hiking and cross-country trails, a nature trail, children's playground, picnic areas including pavilions, a performing arts center, interpretive programs, tennis courts, museum, restaurant and both ice skating and ice hockey rinks.

One of Saratoga's Golf Courses is a 9-hole (1,635 yards) and the other is an 18-hole (7,078 yards) championship course. Each course offers power carts, pro shop and club rental. The 18-hole course offers a clubhouse and driving range as well. The fees for this course are $22 weekdays and $25 weekends. The 9-hole course runs $12 during the week and $13 on weekends.

Summer temperatures average around 72 degrees Fahrenheit (22 degrees Celsius). Precipitation in the region ranges from 36 to more than 44 inches of rain and snowmelt. A slender parcel along the eastern state line receive the heaviest precipitation.
