Many of the beaches of Bermuda are, indeed, blushing pink in color. The pink hue is caused by tiny red single-cell animals that grow on offshore coral reefs. As their skeletons erode and become mixed with white shells of clams and snails, Bermuda's trademark pink sands are created and eventually wash ashore.

Dating to 1612, St. George's was Bermuda's first settlement. In fact, it's the earliest continuously inhabited British settlement outside Great Britain, World Heritage listed for its fortifications and well preserved Colonial architecture. The town's charming St. Peter's Church is successor to the first Anglican church in the Western Hemisphere.
