What to do in Robert H Treman State Park

Robert H. Treman State Park features a number of fabulous waterfalls including the plunging 115-foot Lucifer Falls. The deep, cool, moist gorges of this park are sided by towering rock cliffs. A trail system winds past a dozen falls close enough for refreshing sprays on hot summer days. There is even an opportunity to swim at the basin pool. Several other park amenities are offered including camping, picnicking, fishing and hunting.

Robert H. Treman State Park's most treasured attraction is the Enfield Glen which is a 3-mile gorge of sheer cliff walls with magnificent square corners. There are 3 waterfalls at this site; one plunging 115 feet. Several hiking trails give the visitor an up close experience with the falls. Swimming is permitted in the fallen pool.

Attractions at Robert H. Treman State Park include viewing spectacular scenery, several swimming opportunities, cabins, camping, picnic tables and pavilions, recreation programs, showers, hiking trails, fishing waters, hunting grounds and a children's playground. The park is open year-round with camping available from mid-May to November 30. All gorge trails close early November. Bow hunting for white-tailed deer is permitted in season.

This park is located 5 miles south of Ithaca along SR 13.

This area experiences average January temperatures above 22 degrees Fahrenheit (above -6 degrees Celsius). It is important to note that it receives some of the heaviest snowfalls in the nation. Summer temperatures average around 72 degrees Fahrenheit (around 22 degrees Celsius). Precipitation in the region ranges from less than 36 inches to approximately 40 inches of rain and snowmelt.
