Hugging the Big Island's volcanic Kohala Coast, The Fairmont Orchid offers an opportunity to be as far away from the real worldboth physically and mentallyas you can allow yourself to be. To aid in that mission, the Orchid provides a healthy dose of luxury with a warm serving of hospitality.
The Orchid is a quick 20 miles north of Kona International Airport and encompasses a whopping 32 acres of lushly landscaped fantasy (an oasis amidst jet-black lava fields). Beach Review of The Fairmont Orchid Hawaii
- The Fairmont is set on 32 oceanfront acres. In addition to 540 rooms, the resort has tennis courts, golf, an outdoor "spa without walls," five restaurants, a children's program, and a 10,000-square-foot pool.
- Most afternoons you can see green sea turtles basking in the sunny warmth of the hotel's beach. Lookbut don't harass them in any way.
- Love action? The Activity Package offers unlimited access to sports, such as surfing lessons, snorkeling, seaside yoga, petroglyph hikes, tennis clinics, and more. Romantic? With the Romance Package add-on you'll have orchid petals scattered from your door ending in a heart shape on your bed, floating candles for the bath, tropical massage lotion, champagne, and chocolate-dipped strawberries.
