Nature is central to the Sleeping Lady Mountain Retreat, where the room clusters are named to reflect nearby environmental featuresCottonwood, Forest, Fountain, Meadow, Pond, and Rock. Each group has six to ten rooms, nestled together on the banks of Icicle Creek in Washington's Wenatchee Valley. Each room is warm and bright with pale wood floors and furniture. Two additional standalone cabins have a relaxed elegance.
Year-round fun is to be had in the Wenatchee Valley and surrounding Cascade Mountains. There's badminton, volleyball, horseshoes, an art walk, and a natural rock-lined swimming pool on the resort grounds. Sleeping Lady rents bikes, cross-country skis, and snowshoes for hitting nearby trails. River rafting and hiking also make popular day trips.
The resort has a long history of eco-mindedness. When it was acquired in 1991, 18 buildings that had belonged to the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s were retrofitted and the site was replanted
