Perched on a rocky ledge overlooking Baie Longue beach, La Samanna is the high point of Caribbean refinement and luxury. The crescent-shaped resort sprawls along the western edge of St. Martin, surrounded by clear blue-green water and a private, white-sand beach. Spoil yourselves with this classy and luxurious hideaway, an institution on St. Martin that has been entertaining celebrities and royalty since the mid-1970s. Cloaked from the rest of the island by lush greenery, the elegant main hotel occupies an oversized Mediterranean-inspired villa sitting atop a bluff. Inside, Caribbean style takes over, with wicker, bamboo, and hardwood furniture, and a restaurant terrace opening onto a spellbinding view that spills down to a fabulous beach—the best
