Two hours north of Phoenix, the town of Sedona consists of a striking blend of red rock formationsmonoliths, mesas, hanging cliffs, hoodoos, and spires are all part of the twisting rock walls. Many folks who make a pilgrimage to this magical region of Arizona believe that God created numerous spiritual sites or vortexes around Sedona. The Enchantment Resort is located in Sedona's legendary Boynton Canyon, a place of bluffs, buttes, and boldly shaped red-rock formations. The canyon is not only striking but it's considered one of Sedona's "power" spots, the site of First Woman, founder of the Yavapai-Apache tribe. Because Enchantment has a commitment to educating guests (children included) about the region's Native American culture, R. J. Joseph, a member of the Cree Nation, leads guests 16 and older in the Talking Circle, a program about Native American traditions, and kids' activities incorporate Native American elements.
