Yes, those singles are now couples on the next phase of life. With a $20 million renovation in 2007 that included large family suites, Club Med is doing everything it can to accommodate the family sector.

The revamp spoke to children of all ages, with separate clubs for Baby (4 months to 23 months), Petit (ages 2 and 3), Mini (4 to 10), and Junior (tweens and teens). Baby Club Med has one staffer for every four children and has the look of a daycare center on the beach. Club Med recently teamed with Crayola to create an arts and crafts program for all ages. There's also dress-up, games, puppet shows, and each club has its own outdoor pool and private dining room.

Older kids, especially the four- to 12-year-old crowd will love all the amenities at the resort. They can play tennis, archery, go inline skating, take a yoga class, try their luck at miniature golf, and partake in Club Med's signature event, the circus trapeze. Then there are all the water sports, from sailing catamarans to kayaking. The GOs (counselors) are incredibly personable, always there to entertain, but never hassling the children if they want to chill on the beach and simply read a book.

Club Med also does its best to spice up the kids activities with a dash of Mexican culture, like creating piñatas and traditional masks. This also extends to the food, which has always been the highlight at Club Med, especially compared with other all-inclusive properties. Try the tasty red snapper, chiles rellenos, arroz con pollo, beans, tortillas, and fresh salsa. Kids will love the quesadillas, hand-rolled tacos, and ample supply of spaghetti and pizza. Mom and dad will love the fresh-baked bread, salads, papaya, mangos, and sweet bananas. The main restaurant also has highchairs, booster seats, bottle warmers, and baby food.
