Instead, it's a full-fledged, full-service luxury resort including an award-winning golf course, a variety of indoor and outdoor recreation options, top-class dining, and well-regarded childcare programs for kids 5 to 12.
In 2007, the property embarked on a $52-million renovation and expansion, creating 52 one- and two-bedroom villas and updating the rest of the resort. Guestrooms and suites include luxurious linens, pillow-top mattresses, and warm, inviting décor with touches of bamboo and rattan. All suites include a private balconya perfect place to watch that desert sunsetand the deluxe suites, with either two queens and a king bed as well as a pullout sofa, are located close to Oasis Water Park. Arizona Grand Suites, the resort's largest accommodations, offer three private bedrooms with their own baths. They also feature a separate living and dining area and a private balcony overlooking the Oasis Water Park.
Diverse dining options offer something for everyone. A western-style steakhouse, contemporary grill, and a Mexican restaurant dish up creative flavors, options for kids, and a variety of to-go options in case you'd rather eat in the comfort and convenience of your own suite. More dining options, including an Italian restaurant, are underway as renovation efforts continue.
Oasis Water Park, open to resort guests only, features a huge zero-entry wave pool with two-foot swells, the Zuni River, a simulated inner-tube river ride, a 25-person hot tub, three waterslides, and Wild Cat Springs, an 800-square-foot play area for small tykes. The Oasis Bar and Grill inside the water park offers salads, burgers, sandwiches, and beveragesno outside drinks or food allowed. Attentive lifeguards keep a careful watch over the park.
There's enough at the water park to keep kids busy for a full day or two, but be sure to set aside some time to explore the miles of trailsby foot or mountain bikethreading suddenly-remote South Mountain Park, go on a guided horseback ride, or simply take in the beauty of a desert sunset from your suite.(-) Close
