When Westin re-launched its Kids Club program in November 2005, it added a theme of discovery. At all properties, children ages three to 12 receive a drawstring bag with a world map, a make-your-own postcard kit, colored pencils, and a hat. Tots under the age of three get an amenity kit with a rubber duckie, night light, socket covers, and wipes.

At properties with children's programs, when kids sign-up they receive a backpack filled with a disposable camera and a canteen. The new Westin Kids Club Discovery Rooms feature games, maps, and National Geographic Kids magazines. Discovery Rooms are available at all 30 of the chain's worldwide resorts, from Aruba to Whistler. Kids' club activities incorporate songs and stories related to local culture, stargazing, photo tips, and a scavenger or nature hunt.
