What to do in Port Crescent State Park

Port Crescent State Park is located at the tip of Michigan's "thumb" along three miles of sandy shoreline of Lake Huron's Saginaw Bay. Some of the modern campsites offer a waterfront view, either of the Bay or the Old Pinnebog River channel. Port Crescent recently added a new camper cabin which sleeps six and has a scenic view of Saginaw Bay. A wooden boardwalk parallels the day-use shoreline offering many scenic vistas of Saginaw Bay. The park also offers excellent fishing, canoeing, hiking, cross-country skiing, birding, and hunting opportunities.

Port Crescent State Park has a modern 181-site campground with a waterfront view of Lake Huron and Pinnebog River. Each site comes equipped with electric hookup, fire ring, and picnic table. The camping facilities are open April 1 to December 1 with modern bathhouses closing November 1. Three miles of sandy shore provide the perfect sunbathing, swimming, and fishing location. A 900-foot boardwalk and five picnic decks offer scenic vistas from the top of sand dunes in the day use area. Hiking trails (over 5 miles) are open to cross-country skiers in winter. Contact the park office for information about area ski rentals and the wintertime candlelight ski tours.

Camping, swimming, playground fun, horseshoes, hunting, fishing, hiking, cross-country skiing, and snowmobiling are enjoyed at the park.
