"I was in a small boat off Macquarie Island, Australia, surrounded by 100,000 swimming penguins," recalls Schafer. "Since the action was underwater, I leaned the camera over the side of the boat and fired away blind. From three rolls of film, just three frames were really amazing, and this is one of them."
