The Six Rivers National Forest is located in northern California. It is bordered on the north by the Siskiyou National forest and on the east by the Klamath National Forest. Accessible from Highways 199 and 101, the forest is more than five hours from any major cities, which makes it a secluded, lightly trafficked place. It is 330 miles from Portland, OR, and 370 miles from San Francisco, CA. Closer towns include Redding, CA, and Brookings and Grants Pass in Oregon. Local comforts can be found in Gasquet, CA.
