Winter Kiting: The Gear
by Ted Stedman
Marker Infinity
Marker Infinity Goggles ($110):
Wind-whipped debris, glaring UV rays—goggles are another of snowkiting's de facto equipment decisions. But not just any goggle will do. The main reason we're a bit gaga on the Infinity goggles is due to the fact that these babies give you a 20-percent wider field of vision—always a good thing for the perpetually out-of-bounds snowkite crowd. The skinny? Marker has devised a unique lens retention system called Flash Glass, meaning no outer frame edge on the goggle, hence the improved field of vision. Secondly, the larger internal volume and double lens system add up to better anti-fogging performance. The impact-resistant polycarbonate lenses help eliminate peripheral distortion for that true-to-life view you'll want as you approach Mach 1. Of course we're talking UVA and UVB ray protection, along with the Wing Strap Connection that works with or without a helmet. Contact 800-453-3862, www.markerusa.com.
