You'll find adventure-racing hubs in the most unlikely of cities. According to USARA, Omaha, Nebraska, for instance, has four clubs compared to one in Boulder. Atlanta and Philadelphia have six clubs; Portland, Oregon, has eight. Centers for the sport seem to pop up all across the country. Florida, Texas, and Pennsylvania are some of the hotter spots. For instance, in the Sunshine State, the USARA lists 28 adventure-racing clubs, while Texas has a whopping 35—seven in San Antonio alone and five in Dallas. California, of course, also has its share of enthusiasts, noted by the 30 clubs there, most of them in coastal areas.
