Lake Charles State Park is a perfect camp for exploring the area's historical and natural attractions.

Lake Charles, 645 acres of spring-fed waters in the Ozark foothills, offers fine catches of bass, crappie, bream and catfish. The park includes 61 campsites, picnic sites, a screened standard pavilion with ceiling fans, launch ramp, hiking trails, sandy swimming beach and interpretive programs.

This park is a perfect camp for exploring the area's historical and natural attractions (see Old Davidsonville and Powhatan Courthouse). Springtime float-fishing on area rivers is popular, and hunting is available in nearby wildlife management areas.

Lake Charles State Park is located in the Ozark Mountains Region of northeastern Arkansas. From the town of Hoxie, travel eight miles northwest on U.S. 63, then go six miles south on Arkansas Hwy. 25 to the park

Climate
Arkansas has a temperate climate with the coldest temperatures near freezing during December, January and February. Daytime highs for these months usually reach 55 degrees F. Spring and fall temperatures are very mild with lows dipping to 44 degrees F and highs reaching 70 degrees F. July and August are the hottest months of the year with average temperatures reaching 90 degrees F. June and September average temperatures usually reach into the mid-eighties. Spring and winter months are the wettest of the year.
