The Radisson was Aruba's first luxury high-rise hotel and is still one of the best. The jewel of Palm Beach and the high-rise hotel zone, the resort boasts the district's most luxurious rooms and the best stretch of white sand and clear blue water. And unlike other resorts where guests stake out chaise lounges beginning at the crack of dawn, at the Radisson you can reserve a spot the afternoon before, and beach valets direct latecomers to any open chairs. The Radisson's grounds are lush and inviting, including the large free-form swimming pools which manage to lend a sense of privacy even when they get crowded. Rooms have beautiful mahogany chairs and headboard, adjusting beds, flat screen TVs, internet access, and large private patios with garden or ocean views. The bathrooms are spacious, with Italian marble and deluxe bath products. An on-site dive shop offers recommended snorkeling and diving trips, and a boardwalk connects the Radisson to other high-rise area highlights, including shopping, restaurants, and nightlife.

Radisson occupies 15 acres along beautiful Palm Beach. Although there is no children's program, there is a staffed Kids' Club Room, open 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., where parents and kids may paint t-shirts, make necklaces, and play board games together. The staff person does not provide supervision. Croquet sets, board games and volleyballs are available and can be signed out at the kids' club. With the Family Day program enjoy flying kites, building sandcastles and a beach picnic lunch (for a fee). With Family Night at the Movies, watch complimentary films on the terrace with your kids.

Suites in the Aruba Tower come with separate Jacuzzi tubs and massaging showers.
Day or night, the seductive casino is sheltered by a domed ceiling that reveals a twinkling sky, replete with shooting stars. Vegas-style blackjack, roulette, and craps are dealt into the wee hours.
Radisson's Romantic Escape package includes a sunset sail, a couple's massage, and a private dinner lit by tiki torch as you tuck your toes into the sand.

Being first kid on the block has its advantages. When Aruba entered into tourism in the late 1950s, the site chosen for the island's first resort fronted a quarter-mile of the choicest stretch of sand. Designed by architect Morris Lapidus, the Radisson was substantially renovated in 2001, in a style that upgraded and modernized the rooms and romanticized the 14-acre property with lush gardens. Three towers house the 354 rooms, each with Colonial West Indian furniture, a marble bath, teak balcony chairs, and a contemporary color scheme. A pair of free-form, "zero-entry" swimming pools sit side by side against a backdrop of waterfalls and tropical touches, with whirlpool tubs hidden amid the greenery.
