You won't find any hotels claiming to be gay-owned in Istanbul, but this lovely B&B is certainly gay-friendly. Located in an old house with a charming rooftop garden, central courtyard, and spiral staircase, it's in the heart of the Old Walled city and great for walking to Byzantine and Ottoman monuments like Hagia Sophia. For shoppers, the bonus is that it's only 15 minutes to the grand bazaar. The communal room is a warm traditional Turkish affair with kilms and lots of pillows, but rooms are a bit Spartan (very simple wooden four-poster beds with somewhat thin mattresses), so buy lots of rugs and temporarily redecorate them yourself!
