This inviting getaway, the second oldest continually operating inn in New York, is both directly on the banks of the Hudson River and on Cold Spring's lovely main street. Each of the 12 guest rooms in this three-story clapboard inn have a private bathroom, as does the single suite, and each one provides views of the river, Main Street, West Point, or Storm King Mountain. A cornerstone of the inn's great reputation is the outstanding gourmet fare served up in the dining room and tavern, open in the evenings to the public; breakfast is for guests, only, and consistently satisfies the most discerning eater.
