The Thayer's Main Dining Room is famous for its Sunday Champagne Brunch, and the regular breakfast, lunch, and dinner there might also warrant a message on a postcard when you write home.
The Erie Railroad bed has been converted into the Heritage Trail in nearby Goshen, New York, providing a good venue for walking, jogging, and biking in addition to Bear Mountain State Park.
