Gay-owned and run by a trio of young Danes, Carstens Guesthouse offers ten hostel beds and eleven private rooms inside a gigantic and well-situated fifth floor loft apartment. All share bathrooms, but they also share a full kitchen, a lounge, a terrific view of Copenhagen, and a leafy rooftop sun terrace. Rooms are stylish and clean and feature their own TVs and minibars. The clientele is friendly, international, mostly gay, and reportedly rather handsome. There's no sign outside, so just buzz number 28, hop on the elevator, and enter the door next to the fish bowl.
