The beauty of the Copenhagen Rainbow's philosophy is simple: spend less on housing so you'll have more for the shopping establishments which are conveniently situated right outside your door on the city's famed Strøget. Opened in 2000 in the penthouse of a 19th century building at Copenhagen's heart, the Rainbow has been cherished by its global gay guests ever since. Two rooms have private baths, while three share bathrooms. Married hosts Klavs and Kristian joke that it's a five-star property: one star for every room, unless you're a couple, in which case there are two stars in your room. Free wireless Internet access, a guest kitchen, and do-it-yourself laundry are nice bonuses.
