This Kimpton like most is pet-friendly

Rated one of the top 100 hotels in the world by Travel + Leisure, the Hotel Monaco is popular among the parents. But, we think the children will also love it, because while the rooms are elegantly adult, they also appeal to children with their vibrant colors—think crimson, French blue, butter-yellow. The additional space provides a comfortable fit for the family, including a king-size bed, sofa sleeper, and a luxurious bathroom which includes thick, comfy bathrobes for everyone. The hotel's choice location within strolling distance to downtown Seattle's most popular attractions is another plus.

Gay-friendly Kimpton Hotels' whimsical Hotel Monaco is a lively spot, perched on the corner of Fourth Avenue, amid downtown shops and an easy stroll from Pike Place Market. The lofty lobby, the site of daily wine hours with complimentary local wines and beers, features Cheryl Rowley's ancient Minoan-influenced art and a slew of comfy couches. On Friday nights, Guitar Hero keeps the young and the young at heart entertained. Rooms have vivacious color schemes of raspberry and cream stripes with pencil thin lines of charcoal and ochre on bathroom walls. Restaurant Sazerac does killer cocktails till the wee hours—including an award-winning lemon sorbet, tarragon, and rum concoction—and a Bloody Mary bar on weekend mornings to take the edge off after a few too many.
