Keep in mind that the continental breakfast is pretty basic—pastries, juice, cereal, coffee, and the like.

The Palm Springs Travelodge has a great location, hip décor, and recently-renovated rooms at budget prices, plus 155 rooms with new furniture, mattresses, bedding, carpeting, and the works. The budget price packs a lot of little bonuses like complimentary wifi, a free USA Today, free local calls (for the first ten minutes) so you can order that pizza without worrying about your room bill, and a free continental breakfast.

Each room offers a fridge so you can stretch your meal budget even further and there are two heated outdoor pools and a big whirlpool. Rooms have private patios and some feature views of the mountains. The location is close to the shops and restaurants of downtown Palm Springs.
