This former department store turned fashionable downtown hotel is one of two Portland offerings from the supremely gay-friendly Kimpton Hotels. Featuring the Monaco brand's distinctive raspberry and cream or charcoal and ochre-striped guestrooms and a whimsical color palette throughout the hotel, the friendly, upscale option is perfectly situated for shopping and bar hopping. The pet-friendly hotel will provide you with a goldfish to keep you company if you haven't brought a four-legged friend with you. Restaurant Red Star Tavern is known for its excellent American comfort food. Don't miss the daily wine tasting in the lobby from 5 through 6 PM.
