The Black Tulip is well known and loved by many a gay male traveler to Amsterdam. Why? Hosts Onno Tang and Jürrich Segers have taken a beautiful canalside house from the 1600s and have turned it into a beautifully designed, upscale playground for lusty travelers. It's very Amsterdam—there are seven fully equipped bondage rooms created expressly for the hotel by Fetters of London. The sheer inventiveness of these toys leaves little to the imagination. Other boons are the Black Tulip's famous replenishing breakfasts and its stylish "vanilla" rooms (there are two) for those solo stays or times when you just want to try a little tenderness. Although aimed squarely at the leather community, you'll be surprised at how upscale and tasteful the place is compared to similar properties around the world. By the way, guys only.
