The hotel offers complimentary laundry facilities, helpful for dealing with those annoying mid-trip spills and stains.

With its location on the scruffier side of Times Square and adjacent to Port Authority Bus Terminal, this 310-room property doesn't scream "family friendly" at first glance. Don't be dissuaded, however, as quite apart from being a perfectly safe location (the occasional NYC "character" aside), you're right in the mix, just blocks from Times Square, easy subway access, and transit hubs including Port Authority and Penn Station. Open since April 2010, the hotel's studio-style rooms are quite small, though all come with fully equipped kitchenettes and mod-cons like flat-screen TVs with free HBO and family channels like Nickelodeon and Disney. Downstairs, the free breakfast is another big plus, letting you get a wallet-pleasing start to the day with everything from cereals to coffee to hot-breakfast foods including eggs, sausages, and waffles. Other freebies of note? High-speed Internet, local calls, and midweek sundowner receptions (in case frazzled parents need something to look forward to after a day biting off the Big Apple with the kids …).
