What to do in Holbrook Island Sanctuary State Park

Holbrook Island Sanctuary State Park is located west of Brookville, SR 176. The beautiful natural area offers views of rocky shores along Penobscot Bay. Waterfowl and small mammals about in the sanctuary. Nearby is Goose Falls which is a reversing falls run by canoeists and kayakers.

Scenic natural area of upland forests, rocky shores and an offshore island provides opportunities for hiking, nature appreciation and cross-country skiing in winter. Picnic tables are available, along with an area to launch canoes and kayaks.

The sanctuary is located on Penobscot Bay south of Bucksport in Brooksville. It can be accessed off Back Road, west of SR 176.
