San Juan County

Shaw Island

Almost exclusively a residential island, Shaw is the smallest of the ferry-served islands, and it's a great place to tour by bike. Its ferry dock is operated by Franciscan nuns, who also run the island's only grocery store. There are no restaurants, hotels, motels, or B&Bs; here, so if you wish to spend the night, prepare to camp at Shaw Island County Park.

Parks, Beaches and Recreation Areas

Shaw Island County Park
All pups must be on a leash at this park. Campsites for car campers cost $10 and $12 per night; hikers, bikers, and kayakers pay $3 nightly. Hookups and showers are not available. From the ferry dock, take Blind Bay Road south and then west for approximately two miles. Turn left on Hoffman Cove Road and drive 1.5 miles to the park.
