The Marquesas is a special place. Difficult to get to, but some amazing scenery and fantastic locals. Nuku Hiva is the main island, which does have a nice hotel on one side of the bay. A few cruises stop here a month, but most of the tourists are off of private sailboats or the occasional motor yacht. If you want to get away from it all, maybe get a cool tattoo and meet some interesting people, this is a great place to put on your list.
