What to do in Jupiter

At East Coast resorts Jupiter and Jupiter Island—about 60 miles north of Miami and a few minutes' drive north of Palm Beach—rub shoulders with a crowd you might recognize from People and Fortune magazines. Sunbathe on white-sand beaches near the Jupiter Island estate of singer Celine Dion, network on the links at Jupiter's Ritz-Carlton Golf Club or the Jack Nicklaus-designed course at the Bear's Club, or see panthers and crocodiles at Busch Wildlife Refuge. Spring training brings major league baseball teams (and dirt-cheap tickets) to Roger Dean stadium. Families can swim at the pleasantly undeveloped Dubois Park beach within sight of a pretty redbrick lighthouse that dates from 1860. Vacationers will need a rental car, as Jupiter and Jupiter Island are crisscrossed with bridges that span the waterways.
