Most of the 4,000 acres at Squaw Valley U.S.A. (P.O. Box 2007, Olympic Valley, CA 96146. 1.888.766.9321 or 530.583.6985. www.squaw.com) are open to mountain bikers from May to September. Unlimited cable-car access is $26 per day; one cable-car ride costs $19 (all cyclists must purchase a cable-car pass). Trails are intermediate to advanced.

Vail
The extensive network of marked mountain-biking trails on the front side of Vail opens to cyclists from late May to October. You'll pay $25 per day to use the lift (no charge for trail access only). Whistler Resort
June through October, Whistler and Blackcomb Mountains offer guided and unguided lift-served biking, as well as heli-biking. Most trails are intermediate to advanced single tracks or double tracks that wind through coastal forests. Great routes include River Runs Through It and the Sea to Sky Trail, a 60-mile off-road trip through canyons.
