The Spread:

Book your family vacation to Hilton Hawaiian Village Beach Resort & Spa here.
A tropical paradise right on Waikiki’s famous beach, the Hawaiian Village spreads across 22 acres and includes 20 restaurants and lounges, exotic gardens, and the largest swimming pool on the island of Oahu, plus four other pools. The 2,860 guestrooms are located in six towers, each with its own unique touch—prime beachfront, upscale and exclusive, centrally situated, and so forth. The Village has more than 90 stores, making it a shopper’s paradise, too, and though it’s in the middle of all that Waikiki offers (including its crowds and noise), the Village has the feel of a tropical retreat.

Why Families Love It:
Beach or pool? No need to decide here. Waikiki Beach, steps from the rooms, is a paradise for bodysurfers, boogie boarders, swimmers, waders, beachcombers, and sun worshippers. Then there’s the resort’s Super Pool—10,000 square feet of waterfalls and tropical vegetation right on the beach.

Rainbow Express Keiki Club for ages five to 12 (8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., half- and full-day options, $25 to $56) celebrates the Hawaiian Islands and people with a variety of activities; there are even excursions to attractions such as the Waikiki Aquarium, Honolulu Zoo, and the Bishop Museum.

The resort offers free demonstrations of indigenous arts like lei making, hula, and ukulele playing, as well as koi, penguin (yes, penguin), and turtle feeding. The Village is one of two non-zoo facilities sanctioned in the U.S. as a breeding ground for African black-footed penguins. There’s also a branch of the Bishop Museum at the hotel, showcasing the history and customs of Hawaii and life in Waikiki.

Special Events & Activities:
Every Friday night, children can join the King’s Jubilee Keiki Parade, carrying colorful flags on the way to the Super Pool for the weekly show of Hawaiian music and dance culminating in a fireworks extravaganza. Sign up for seats in the reserved children’s section up front; parade participants receive their own picture taken with the King of Hawaii. The event is free, but reserved seating poolside for adults requires a two-drink minimum.
