Biography
Hungry for adventure from a young age, Travis grew up racing downhill mountain bikes, running rivers, and climbing mountains in the Pacific Northwest. Eschewing college for the island life in his late teens, he set his sights on the tropical travel circuit and made his way around the world as a freelance scuba instructor. For five years he worked charter boats, taught scuba diving and lived the dream in tropical hotspots from Hawaii and Thailand to the Virgin Islands and Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula. A former staff editor at Scuba Diving magazine, Travis currently enjoys his laid-back southern lifestyle in Savannah, Georgia, where he throws his adventurous spirit and love of watersports into his travels and freelance contributions for Men's Journal, Scuba Diving and Sport Diver magazines.
