Biography

Michael Luongo grew up near the Jersey Shore, so it's no surprise he'd be reviewing beaches for Away.com. Michael is based in New York City and travels more than half the year. His work has taken him to more than 80 countries and all 7 continents, Latin America and the Middle East being his favorite parts of the world. Michael's travel writing and travel photography have appeared in The New York Times, Bloomberg News, Out Traveler, Business Traveler, and many other publications. He was the founding editor of the Haworth Press Out in the World series on gay travel literature, editing such books as Gay Travels in the Muslim World and Looking For Love in Faraway Places.
