Disneyland Family Travel Tips

If you know you'll want to eat with one of the Disney characters, buy meal vouchers in advance Mousesavers.com is a good resource). You'll save a few dollars, possibly more if you're traveling during peak times.
Don't bother with the prepaid dining plan. It won't save you money, and you'll be limited to specific restaurants for eating.
Be very careful not to lose your tickets. Disneyland will not replace them—no exceptions.
Use the FastPass system, which holds your place in line without requiring you to stand and wait, and the Child Swap system, in which parents can each take a turn riding with their child without standing in line twice.
Definitely plan to enjoy Fantasmic, the fireworks, music, and light show—it's worth a later bedtime. Check Disneyland's park calendar for dates and times.
